“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
-John 3:3 (ESV)
Guardian Angels and Supernatural Creatures
August 27, 2025
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
-Psalm 91:9-13 (NIV)
****Warning**** This posting is going to get very weird and very fast.
Would it surprise you to hear that we’re not alone in this world? For some reason I’m hearing more news about Unidentified Aerial Phenomena (UAPs and formerly known as UFOs). There are more videos out there showing disc, orb, triangle, jellyfish shape and other UAPs. Oddly enough, they seem to have no propulsion system, no heat signature exhaust, and seem to defy the rules of physics and gravity whereby they can cover speeds of hundreds of feet per second and seemingly maneuver on a dime. Some of these UAPs are even classified as Unidentified Submerged Objects (USOs) because they’re moving in and out of water and air at these high speeds and still breaking all the rules of known physics and science. Believe it or not, the Pentagon, White House and even high-ranking NASA officials have all confirmed many of these global sightings. In addition, I’m also hearing information about aliens, extraterrestrials and abductions.
Most mainstream media sources are not telling you that some high-ranking NASA officials have documented alien encounters fleeing from the name of Jesus. For Christians, that shouldn’t surprise you! Here’s a short video clip of biblical creationist, pastor and filmmaker - Gary Bates summing up this info:

There you have it! They’re not aliens, they’re demons! I won’t get into the topic of demons: what they are, what they do, what their motives are, etc., in this posting, but perhaps later.
Okay, so nothing on demons for now. Then what about angels? Angels are real too! The Old Testament and parts of the New Testament are filled with encounters with angels. Jn. 20:12, Gen. 19:1 to name a few. In Greek the word for angel (ángelos) simply means ‘messenger’. It’s not a description or title for the ontological being of what it is, but it’s a description for what it does. This means the word ‘angel’ is a job title. And I tell you probably 99% of Christians don’t understand that. This explains the Christophany theological scenario whereby Jesus appears in the Old Testament (pre-incarnate) and called “the angel of the LORD” or “the angel of God”. We know Jesus is not a mere angel like the rest of God’s messengers. Jesus has been and always will be the second person of the trinity, the Son of God, Saviour of the world and also God himself. If you’re still confused about this, notice Exo. 3:2 compared to Exo. 3:4. Exo. 3:2 says it’s “the angel of the LORD” within the burning bush and Exo. 3:4 says it’s God from within the burning bush. Once again, we have to remember ‘angel’ simply means messenger, and whereby here it’s referring to God himself - Jesus (the second person of the trinity). There are many other examples of the Christophany, but I won’t get into it here.
I know, some of you are thinking about the various kinds of “angels” and their jobs. Some have theorized there are actually nine types of “angels”: Seraphim, Cherubim, Thrones (Ophanim), Dominions, Powers, Virtues, Principalities, Archangels and simply Angels. Within this, some believe each of us have “guardian angels”.
Passages like Psalm 91:11 or Matthew 18:10 may or may not hint that each of us has some kind of “guardian angel” (an angel God has assigned to protect us or minister to us/help us). The passage from Matthew 18:10 stating “these little ones” could refer to believers or little children. We know at times angels help to protect (Daniel 6:20-23, 2 Kings 6:13-17). We know angels minister in general (Hebrews 1:14). We know angels can definitely carry God’s message (Acts 7:52-53, Luke 1:11-20). We know angels guide (Matthew 1:20-21, Acts 8:26) and provide resources (Genesis 21:17-20), 1 Kings 19:5-7).
The idea of a personal “guardian angel” originally started from the idea of Michael being one of the archangels (meaning chief angels in Greek) and the archangel chosen for Israel and combined with Psalm 91:11 and Matt. 18:10. Jews believed in the idea of a personal guardian angel during the Intertestamental Period (the approx. 400 years between the Old and New Testaments). Some early church fathers and some Roman Catholics believe God assigns each Christian believer a guardian angel. In fact, some Roman Catholic Priests believe and profess guardian angels look exactly like us because who would know and respond to our intimate needs and desires better than ourselves? And thus having a mirror image type of duplicate to ourselves would respond with the utmost appropriate care to ourselves.
When I look at these passages, I can’t conclusively say all believers have a personal guardian angel or not. And many of these passages can justifiably mean the angels are really serving God (not people). However, I can say that God indeed cares for you! He adores you and loves his children (1 Jn. 3:1) and God can and will send angels at times to help us, provide for us, fight for us, etc., if it means glorifying God! Through it all, we’re to remember it’s all about God’s story not our own. All the ups and downs, the triumphs and tragedies are all about God’s story, not our own, but still, God indeed cares for you and loves you and wants you a part of his grand and glorious story! Feel privileged, feel so privileged because if you’re a true believer, God elected you and predestined you before the foundations of the world (Eph. 1:4) to be in a deep, intimate and holy relationship with God the Father, through Jesus Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit. This was not an accident and was a pre-planned and calculated decision, and also a holy ordained decree by God! He loves you so much that he sent and sacrificed his one and only Son (Jesus Christ) to die for you personally (1 Jn. 4:10) – and that makes a world of a difference!
